• Step 2: We let Iceland in on the deal. They can sell tickets to ‘Sarah Palin Toss 2010′ and that should bolster the Icelandic economy. Besides, isn’t the Prime Minister of Iceland a gay-married lesbian? We all know where Palin stands on marriage equality and her alleged gay friends.

VENICE, La. — A sense of doom settled over the American coastline from Louisiana to Florida on Saturday as a massive oil slick spewing from a ruptured well kept growing, and experts warned that an uncontrolled gusher could create a nightmare scenario if the Gulf Stream carries it toward the Atlantic.

President Barack Obama planned to visit the region Sunday to assess the situation amid growing criticism that the government and oil company BP PLC should have done more to stave off the disaster. Meanwhile, efforts to stem the flow and remove oil from the surface by skimming it, burning it or spiking it with chemicals to disperse it continued with little success.

Louisiana’s Republican Governor Bobby ‘Monster Mash’ Jindal is confident that BP will pay for the cleanup. I’m wondering if that will include replacing all the wildlife (http://huff.to/palinkills), their habitats, and taking care of the families of folks who make a living fishing and shrimping along the Gulf Coast?

At this point, drill, baby, drill should only be used to refer to lobotomies for you effed-up, anti-nature Republicans and your Christian right pom-pom girls. So, regulate, baby, regulate!

The United States of America has finally taken steps toward joining the rest of the civilized world in providing universal access to healthcare for its citizens. There’s a lot of work to be done, it’s not perfect, but at least we’re on our way.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care — admitted over the weekend that she used to get her treatment in Canada’s single-payer system.

“We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada,” Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. “And I think now, isn’t that ironic?”

Look up “irony” in the dictionary you stupid con. It comes after “idiot.”

“My first five years of life we spent in Skagway, Alaska, right there by Whitehorse. Believe it or not — this was in the ’60s — we used to hustle on over the border for health care that we would receive in Whitehorse. I remember my brother, he burned his ankle in some little kid accident thing and my parents had to put him on a train and rush him over to Whitehorse and I think, isn’t that kind of ironic now. Zooming over the border, getting health care from Canada,” Palin said a speech Saturday night, according to the Calgary Herald.

Palin spoke before a paying audience of 1,200 in Calgary, with tickets costing between $150 and $200, the Medicine Hat News of Medicine Hat, Alberta, reported.
