Christianist skank, advocate of murdering the gays, pathological liar and social climbing attention whore, Lauren Ashley, gets her (all too mild) comeuppance from MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Dan Savage.
MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann spotlights the craptastic cavalcade of kookiness that is the American Conservative Union’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
The highlight of this little exercise in public chest beating had to be conserva-bot Ryan Sorba’s bit of gay-bashing from the podium (at 2:20 in the video above) that was directed at one of the sponsor’s of the annual confab — the über-conservative gay organization GOProud. That sponsorship pissed off many among the legions of culture warriors that attend the increasingly irrelevant annual gathering of gun-toting, Bible-banging, birth-certificate-chasing tea-baggers.
Elsewhere on the web, anti-gay twit Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truthiness about the ‘Mos has pulled his dirty little mind out of Dan Savage’s sweaty ass-crack long enough to froth lasciviously over the CPAC appearance by Sorba, who, should you care, vice-chairs California Young Americans for Fascism Freedom, co-founded Young Conservatives of California and claims to have a “forth-coming” book entitled The “Born Gay” Hoax.
“I am so proud of this young man,” gushes Porno Pete breathlessly. “We need a few dozen more Ryan Sorbas in our pro-family movement to put the ‘queer’ activists on their heels for a change – instead of constantly being put on the defensive by a perversion lobby that equates sexual misbehavior and gender confusion with ‘civil rights,’” bleats LaBarbera.
Dan Savage and Keith Olbermann comment on Brit Hume’s suggestion that Tiger Woods take advantage of Christianity’s Get of Adultery Free card (video: Countdown with Keith Olbermann)
From the transcript:
OLBERMANN: Wow. When the brakes of political correctness are applied on you by Don Imus, you’re in trouble. But let me start with the premise. Being Christian is the best religion for adulterers because you can be forgiven, and we have lots of many fine examples of that, I suppose.
SAVAGE: We do — Mark Sanford, John Ensign, David Vitter. What’s hilarious about it is there’s Brit Hume on Fox News suggesting that people should be Christians or adulterous straight men should be Christians not because Jesus is the way and the light, not because Jesus is the Son of God, not because it is the one true religion, but because it offers the best deal. It gives you the get-out-of-adultery-free card that other religions just can’t. That seems like an insult to Christianity, as my mother would point out if she were still alive.
The Christian right’s steno pool (here, there and everywhere) is having a collective (holy) cow!
In other gay news: straight Americans are comfortable with gay and lesbian elected officials writing the law, voting on the law, and enforcing the law. They just don’t think gay and lesbian Americans should be equal under the law. Not yet anyway. Check back in a few decades.
