Cass’ signature brand of paranoid insanity is not unfamiliar to regular readers in these here parts, but he who organized a shitload of like-minded, gay-hating fundie pastors, including San Diego’s own Jim Garlow, to preach in Washington DC about the sheer fabulousness of executing the gays biblical-style has clearly gone for the Olympic (if not, unintentionally, the comedy) Gold in Downhill Patheticness:

“To assert that Jesus was a homosexual only serves to confirm the twisted and depraved mind of Elton John,” Cass continues. “This is an obvious case of someone projecting their own corrupt lifestyle onto Christ in an effort to justify their own unrepentant buggery. Elton John owes all Christians an apology.”

Singer Sir Elton John has claimed that Jesus Christ was gay in a sensational interview with an American magazine.

[Sir Elton] exclusively told Parade that Jesus was a “super-intelligent gay man” who was “compassionate, forgiving and understood human problems”.

He added: “On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving.

“I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East – you’re as good as dead,” he added.

A spokesman for the Church of England told the BBC: “Sir Elton’s reflection that Jesus calls us all to love and forgive is one shared by all Christians.”
