The founder of Californians Against Hate (now Rights Equal Rights), Fred Karger was the genius behind dragging the Mormon’s and NOM’s butts before state election ethics boards. He was also responsible for jumpstarting boycotts and demonstrations against pro-Prop-H8 backers like Doug Manchester — who funded signature gathering for the anti-gay California initiative.
Fred’s also the driving force behind saving the Boom Boom Room, one of the oldest gay bars in Laguna Beach, California.
Long before I ever met Fred Karger, he was my hero because Fred took opposition to the bigots who oppose equality for LGBT Americans to an in-your-face, ACT UP like level.
Right now, Fred Karger is exploring the possibility of running for President as a Republican — an action that will surely put Mormon Mitt Romney and a few others on the hot seat, forcing them to address LGBT issues openly, honestly and with the cameras rolling.
