Has anyone worked to debunk the Heritage Foundation "report" on violence in the wake of Prop 8? It's called "The Price of Prop 8" and it purports to document "harassment" etc. at http://www.heritage.org/research/family/bg2328.cfm

The footnotes reveal their claims are overblown, but the report seems to give support for the "facts" included in the pastors' declarations about widespread violence, none of which happened, or if there was an incident, can not reasonably be classified as violence.

There are no police reports of any merit tied to pro-equality groups or individuals.

If you know who can, or how to systematically debunk the Heritage report, pass this on.

seems that pastor jim garlow hasn't read his bible, if he really believes that "orthodox Christianity has affirmed that marriage consists of one man and one woman for two millennia, the Judeo-Christian heritage has historically defined marriage as one man joined to one woman for 5,000 years. The pre-historic book of Genesis establishes the foundation for the mate-female marriage."

but then again, this comes from a man who speaks of a pre-historic book.

The pro-Prop 8 crowd are all uniformly crying out about their victimization. That seems more a strategy than a reality. If they were harassed or threatened, surely they filed police reports. Let's see them.

Yes, bloggers and other writers expressed negative opinions about them, and it's likely rude comments were anonymously made. Surely the slings and arrows come with the territory when one decides to eliminate an existing fundamental right of a select class of citizens.

If they can't stand the heat, they should stay out of the kitchen. Politics is a rough and tumble game. If you play, you can expect to get bruised.

As Dan Savage said on CNN in the days following the 2008 election - paraphrasing here, they can't expect to march into the public square, throw a punch and not expect to have one thrown back just because they're 'churches.'

These cowards have done their damage, now they want to hide behind the skirts of the legal process.

With the current SCOTUS, who knows what will happen if or when the case gets there.

There was as much hate and harassment toward these two idiots and their idiotic congregation as we had to experience hearing Qualcomm Haters. I am so sick and tired of these exaggerations, which ultimately is what the High Court surmised in overturning public viewing, aside from the fact that any pro-gay marriage request for relief would be doomed from the start among the 5, although Kennedy shocked me - but that is another issue. Mike, should be interesting when our Fed Circuit rules the unconstitutionality of 8 (which they will), and what the High Court does. If they grant cert, who are the activist judges then?
