Ugandan anti-gay bill faces new powerful opposition

Excellent news!
Here’s a link to Chris Johnson’s piece, Ugandan president committed to blocking anti-gay bill: officials, at DC Agenda.
U.S. officials have received assurances from the Ugandan president that he would work to block a harshly anti-gay bill from becoming law in his country and would veto the legislation should it come to his desk, according to the State Department.
Maddow’s attention to this issue has been significant and may well have averted a catastrophe. Little wonder that a ‘mo-hating worm like Peter LaBarbera included Rachel Maddow on his list of Gay Grinch of the Year candidates. Maddow’s focus on stories like the Ugandan exterminate-the-gays bill, The Family, C Street and the rest of the nut-cases that populate the radical religious right and the Republican Party are undoubtedly what Porno Pete was referring to when he said, “Maddow too has plenty of other material that gives her a serious shot at the Gay Grinch 2009 award.”
Whoever wins LaBarbera’s petty competition is a bona fide hero.
