San Diego City Councilmember Gloria gets ready to restore the sign

Is this a great photo of 3rd District City Councilmember Todd Gloria or what? Last night volunteers, in preparation for Sunday night’s re-lighting of the Hillcrest sign during CityFest, slapped a coat of fresh paint on this beloved local landmark. Sponsored by the Hillcrest Business Association, this year’s CityFest will feature lots of changes and firsts, including the closure of the intersection of Fifth and University to accommodate the Grand Stage, Spirits Garden and Lantern Parade that will precede the re-lighting of the sign.
