Rhythm Turner speaks about her recent bashing

I posted this video ten days after Rhythm Turner was bashed in Mission Beach last May. Here’s the copy from that post:
San Diego musician Rhythm Turner, following a performance in San Diego’s Mission Beach on 14 May 2009, became the victim of a brutal crime because she’s a lesbian. As the 25-year-old Turner hugged her partner outside the venue, she was approached by an intoxicated man who confronted the couple using anti-gay slurs and religious references. The man then bashed Turner, leaving her with “two very serious facial fractures and the inability to perform musically.” Her attacker was arrested for felony assault, but has not been charged with a hate crime.
I saw Rhythm and the Method perform in Hillcrest two Sundays ago at HillQuest‘s Hop in the Hood. She is a courageous and brilliant musician with an amazing voice. Please come out and give her your support. Here are the details for the benefit Thursday night:
