The month of July is officially Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Month in San Diego. Despite insignificant opposition, the City Council approved the resolution and openly-gay councilmembers Carl DeMaio and Todd Gloria presented the proclamation to representatives of San Diego Pride.

Standing side by side, both spoke of the many contributions of the GLBT community to the city. DeMaio said, “What makes San Diego a great city is our immense diversity.” He noted that some cities may have diversity without harmony or harmony without diversity, but San Diego has both.
