Blogger Justin McLachlan has posted a great video against Proposition 8 from Your South Pasadena Neighbors that features (gasp!) actual children and loving gay couples. There’s been a lot of discussion (i.e. here and here and here) lately about why gay people are, thus far, MIA in the No on Prop 8 ad campaign. Well, here’s a notion about what might happen if we were there front and center. And look! The sky isn’t falling.

I think I’ve been quite clear: the things Yes on 8ers say in their ads aren’t based on fact or even California law. They’re misleading. I’m not the only one to say that, either — but still, I’m surprised by the pussy-footed journalism surrounding this campaign. Where are the fact checkers? The Yes on 8ers raise a point, the No on 8ers counter that point — where are the reporters digging for the truth?
I haven’t found them yet.
